What does fasting do?
Fasting draws us closer to God. Drawing closer to God through fasting and prayer will release His supernatural power in ways that will affect your future, your family and every aspect of your life. Fasting is a short-term investment that releases long-term rewards.
Fasting gives you the ability to hear Gods heart. Fasting connects you to your assignment and accelerates your destiny.
Daniel Fast is a partial and prolonged fast that yields health, healing, vision and clarity. Found in Daniel chapter 10, the Daniel fast is for twenty-one days.
Daniel was grieved and burdened with the revelation he had received for Israel. He ate no choice breads or meats and drank no wine for three weeks. The Word says that from the moment Daniel fasted and prayed, humbled himself before God; God heard Him. Daniel's fast broke the power of the delayer and released the angles of God so that God’s purpose could be revealed and served.
Remember, if this fast doesn’t mean anything to you it doesn’t mean anything to God. Without combining fasting with prayer, giving and the Word it’s just a diet.
There are two powers at work when you fast: the human will (what you can do) and the supernatural power of God (what He will do). When you decided to exercise your will and put your flesh under submission to the Spirit of God, His supernatural power kicks in and helps you fast according to the level of commitment that you have made. This is your time to sow. You can do far more in the anointing of God than you can in human zeal. God’s anointing is not for thrills; it is for battle. When you go into battle you fight to win.
So set your appetite for prayer, fasting and giving. The three cords that can not be broken; watch miracles happen.
This fast is not only for you but it’s for us. This is a corporate fast. As a church we are expecting God to do things we have never seen.
In the book of Joel God promises a latter-day outpouring of His Spirit.
And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out
My Spirit in those days.
Joel 2:28-29
This great end time pouring out can only come through prayer, fasting and giving. Joel said to consecrate a fast, call a sacred assembly; gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land in the house of the Lord your God, and cry out to the Lord. Your fasting, prayers and giving can change history, this church and lives of others. This is a corporate fast!!.
