Church Updates

As servant leaders in our church, we have a unique responsibility to lead our congregation—not just spiritually, but by ensuring our church home is a safe, welcoming environment for everyone, including our most vulnerable members.

To prevent the spread of respiratory viruses (like COVID-19 and flu) within our close-knit faith community, we are asking that the following safety steps be modeled effective immediately for Pastors, Elders, Staff and congregation, the goal is to frame public health as a form of biblical stewardship and mutual care rather than a rigid restriction.

Thank you in advance. I am so grateful for your cooperation, grace, love and care for our church family.

Ministry Grace: If you are sick  and expected to serve please notify me as early as possible. We will always prioritize your health and the safety of the church and make necessary adjustments and changes to fit the Sunday Worship Service.

Modifying Close-Contact Greeting
I personally love our Sunday morning meet and greet but close contact greeting involve high person-to-person contact so we are modifying our meet and greet to reduce transmission of contagious virus.  (colds and flus etc.)

Passing the Peace will be modified to greeting the person sitting next to you by saying “ Peace Be With You” with a reply “and also to you”to avoid hugs and hand shakes and to protect the most vulnerable among us.

Communion Cups will be passed out during Communion by gloved Pastors or Elders to distribute elements to the congregation

Masked/Distanced required for all Pastors, Elders, Staff when active sore throat, runny nose, coughing under the weather or anything that could be passed to the congregation. Again if you are serving contact me preferably before Sunday morning.

Mask while singing, praying or speaking to the congregation. Why? We have a small space so these actions significantly releases higher volume of respiratory droplets in the air than casual talking.

We are all familiar with CDC guidelines on health especially post Coronavirus and l’m not against it but keep in mind that church has standards that supersede world standards. When feeling under the weather but not sure if you are sick please wear your mask and sit on the back row if not serving, it’s the most loving thing you can do for your church family.

If you are recovering from being sick and are returning to serve or attend a service I ask that you utilize a high-quality masks.

Microphones will be labeled this week and no longer shared by the Pastoral Staff and Elders.

We have set up hand sanitizing through out the church and soap and water in the bathroom. We provide mask on demand. We encourage parents of young and elementary children to help where needed in this area.

Upgrade HVAC filters: To ensure the building's central heating and cooling systems we will switch to use a high-efficiency filter (MERV 13 or higher) and keep the air system running continuously during services.

Thank you for your dedication to keeping our church family healthy. We want everyone who steps through our doors to feel entirely safe and welcome—especially our brothers and sisters who are elderly or medically vulnerable.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me directly.

In His Service,
PB
