Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”
Lamentations 3:22-23

Before you focus on what went wrong this past year, take time to remember what God has done right. The Ten Days of Awe are a season of self-examination, but they are also a season of remembrance. It is easy to dwell on mistakes, missed opportunities, disappointments, and failures. Yet when we look back honestly, we can also see the fingerprints of God's faithfulness woven throughout every season.

Lamentations 3:22-23 was written during a time of great sorrow and devastation. In the midst of loss and uncertainty, Jeremiah made a deliberate choice to remember the character of God. He declared, “Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” Even when circumstances seemed overwhelming, God's mercy remained constant.

As you reflect on the past year, consider the ways God has sustained you. Think about the challenges you faced that could have overwhelmed you, yet somehow you made it through. Recall the prayers He answered, the doors He opened, the protection He provided, and the strength He gave when your own strength was gone. Remember the people He placed in your life at just the right moment and the unexpected blessings that reminded you He was near.

There may have been seasons when you questioned His plan or wondered if He was working at all. Looking back now, you may be able to see His hand guiding you even when you could not recognize it in the moment. God's faithfulness is not measured by a life free from difficulties but by His constant presence through every difficulty.

Gratitude has a way of softening the heart. When we remember God's goodness, repentance becomes less about guilt and more about returning to the One who has loved us faithfully all along. Thankfulness shifts our focus from our shortcomings to His mercy. It reminds us that the same God who carried us through the past year will also lead us into the next one.

The God who was faithful yesterday is faithful today. The God who carried you through last year will carry you through the year ahead. His mercies are still new every morning, and His faithfulness still has no end.

Good Morning Lord,

Thank You for Your unfailing faithfulness. As I look back over this past year, help me see Your hand at work in every season. Thank You for sustaining me, protecting me, providing for me, and loving me even when I failed. Forgive me for the times I focused more on my problems than on Your promises. Fill my heart with gratitude and trust. As I enter this new season, help me walk confidently, knowing that the God who has been faithful in the past will be faithful in the future. In Yeshua's name, Amen.
