Daily Devotion

You are being invited into a deeper encounter with the Holy Spirit and into a fresh alignment with the promises of God over your life, your family, and your purpose.

In the Old Testament, Pentecost is associated with God giving the Law which included His Word, commandments, and covenant order. In the New Testament, Pentecost is associated with God giving the Spirit, who breathes life into that Word and writes it on hearts. The Holy Spirit takes the Scriptures and turns them into revelation. He opens your eyes to understand the Word, leads you into truth, and reveals Jesus to you in a living, personal way. Pentecost is God saying to you that He does not just want you to know about Him; He wants you to know Him.

The Feast of Weeks (Pentecost) is a harvest feast, celebrating the wheat harvest and the bringing in of firstfruits of the land. It was also a worship feast, a time when the people would bring offerings, rejoice before God, and remember His goodness. In the New Testament, Pentecost brings in a spiritual harvest: three thousand added in a single day, the launch of mission to the nations, and the beginning of the Church’s witness in the world.

Shavuot (Pentecost/Feast of Weeks) is celebrated from sunset on Thursday, May 21, until nightfall on Saturday, May 23.

Have an awesome Pentecost Weekend!
