“We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We sometimes imagine that the people remembered for their faith must have been extraordinary from the beginning. Yet Scripture repeatedly reveals something different: God works through ordinary people who depend on Him.

Moses struggled with his ability to speak. David was a shepherd before he was a king. Peter failed publicly, yet Yeshua restored him and entrusted him with responsibility. These lives remind us that a person's failures do not have to become the final word.

The treasure is not the vessel. The treasure is what God places within it.
As we remember faithful believers, we should not confuse a meaningful legacy with a flawless life. Every believer needs mercy. Every servant needs grace. Every generation must learn again to depend on the Lord rather than human strength.

You may look at your own life and see the mistakes more clearly than the moments of faithfulness. Perhaps you feel that you have missed opportunities or that your story is too ordinary to matter.

Remember this: God does not require you to be someone else to serve Him. He calls you to surrender the person you are to His transforming work. Your weakness does not surprise Him. Your need for grace does not disqualify you. In His hands, even an ordinary life can become a powerful testimony.

Good Morning Lord,

Forgive me for measuring my life against the lives of others. Thank You that Your power is not dependent on my perfection. Teach me to walk humbly, repent quickly, receive Your grace, and remain available to Your purposes. Let my life bring glory to You rather than to myself. In Yeshua's name, Amen.
