"Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts." Psalm 139:23
Rosh Hashanah is September 11th this year. It is often known as the Jewish New Year. It is an intentional season of inner reflection, spiritual evaluation, and renewed commitment to God. It marks the beginning of a sacred journey that invites us to examine our hearts, seek reconciliation with others, and realign our lives with God's purposes.
In our busy lives, it is easy to move from one responsibility to the next without pausing to consider the condition of our soul. Rosh Hashanah reminds us that spiritual growth requires reflection; so start thinking now. It calls us to ask honest questions: Are there relationships that need healing? Are there offenses that need forgiveness? Have I drifted from my first love for God? Am I living with eternity in view?
This season encourages us not only to look inward but also to look upward. As we reflect on God's faithfulness, mercy, and grace, we are invited to renew our spiritual focus. Rather than dwelling on past failures, we can embrace God's invitation to repentance and restoration. His mercies are new every morning, and He delights in drawing His children back to Himself because he is the Good Shepherd.
Jesus taught that healthy relationships matter to God. So reconciliation is important to God. Sometimes the greatest act of obedience is extending forgiveness, seeking forgiveness, or pursuing peace where division has existed. As we do, we make room for God's healing work in our hearts and in our communities.
May this season be a time of spiritual renewal; a fresh opportunity to listen for God's voice, surrender what no longer belongs in our lives, and step forward with a heart fully devoted to Him.
Good Morning Lord,
Thank You for seasons that call us to reflect and renew our hearts before You. Search us and reveal anything that is keeping us from deeper fellowship with You. Help us in this new season to seek reconciliation where it is needed, extend forgiveness freely, and walk in humility and obedience. Renew our spiritual focus, strengthen our faith, and draw us closer to Your presence. May we enter this season with grateful hearts and a fresh commitment to follow You. In Jesus name, Amen.
