Daniel Fast Devotional

IF MY PEOPLE WHO ARE CALLED BY MY
NAME WILL HUMBLE THEMSELVES, AND
PRAY AND SEEK MY FACE, AND TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS, THEN I WILL HEAR FROM HEAVEN, AND WILL FORGIVE THEIR SIN AND HEAL THEIR LAND.”
2 CHRONICLES 7:14, NKJV

Do you know that God never disappoints?
To the lost, He is salvation. To the thirsty, He is living water. To the hungry, He is the bread of life.

Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” Then they said to Him, “Lord, give us this bread always.” And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.”
John 6:32-35, NKJV

Jesus clearly shows us how a relationship with Him is so much more than something we do on the side or someone we visit with once a week at church. We need Jesus every day. He is our living water and bread of life; our source for everything we need.

Fasting reminds us of this. Every time we’re hungry or want something we’re fasting from, we can be reminded of our need for God and His Word as the sustaining source in our lives.

“I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE.”
JOHN 6:48, NKJV
