PB Devotional

“Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10‬:‭23‬-‭25‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Going to church is not about getting your attendance gold star, nor is it about gaining God’s favor for the week because you assembled together with His people. Church ,the building, is a place to go. We also have the “the Church” it is a living body where God wants you to become a part for your good and His glory.

Hearing the preaching of Scripture is vital to your spiritual well-being. Watching preachers on TV is often how people justify giving up on church attendance. They may be listening to good preaching (if they’re discerning), but without living in close fellowship with real people, one can never really experience the help and hope Christ offers His bride through faithful involvement in a local church. We are not an island. We were created for relationship. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are given to edify (mature) the body of Believers. When we are well in our bodies and able to walk through the doors of the local church we should.

God has commanded us all to spread the Good News with urgency. It is through the preaching of sound doctrine that the Word of God:

- Penetrates hearts and transforms lives
- Calls sinners to repentance
- Encourages the weak
- Inspires us to love and serve Christ
- Lights the way God would have us go

Inviting people to National Back to Church is as much about you as it is the other person. They need to commit to church and you need to do what someone did for you. Share the Good News and fulfill the Great Commission. All Believers have the same mission. It starts in our homes and then it spreads abroad. So get busy!

Back to Church Sunday is this Sunday!
