PB Devotional
As the people were in expectation, and all were questioning in their hearts concerning John, whether he might be the Christ, John answered them all, saying, ‘I baptize you with water, but he who is mightier than I is coming, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit fire. His winnowing fork is in his hand, to clear his threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his barn, but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.’
Luke 3:15-17
The Baptism by Fire is an empowering moment. We have the promise of amazing gifts being delivered in this Baptism, which means we have even more reason to do it.
The Lord himself is acting in an amazing way to deliver the greatest gifts a person could ever hope to receive. (1 Corinthians 12:4) These gifts are meant to be used to serve the mission of Jesus through the Church. The Holy Spirit is also the one who empowers life transformation. Evidence of the fruit of the Spirit in your life is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control according to Galatians 5:22-23.

And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
