If you love me, obey my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.”

The Holy Spirit leads us to all truths. By the Spirit of God we receive the gifts of God. The gifts of God reveal truth for the sake of healing the inner most parts of the human condition. Gifts are for the here and now. They are tools to save souls and edify the body of Christ. They are an outward manifestation of the glory and power of God. These things will pass away but love will remain. There will be no need for these things in Heaven. Love is eternal because God is love.

“Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.”
