PB Devotion

People all over the world are seeking peace. The reason they seek it is because there’s no lasting comfort or freedom in their lives. It’s like they are always unsettled. The Bible defines peace primarily in three ways.

Psychological peace, the comfort within.

”Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.“
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Relational peace, harmony among humanity.

”And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.“
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭14‬-‭15‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Spiritual peace, which is between God and man.

“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,“
‭‭Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The Bible outlines how sin wipes out all three types of peace. When God created man, he was at peace with God, himself, and everyone else. However, that peace is lost when we turn against God. Peace can be restored, but we can’t do it alone.

Put your faith, hope, joy and peace in God. Let Him do what only He can do.

Happy Advent!!
