PB Devotion
How can we be aware of and replace negative thoughts with what is true about us, about God and about reality?
Paul reminds us:
“for, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.”
1 Corinthians 2:16 NIV
Those who have accepted Christ “have
the mind of Christ.” With Christ’s Spirit, we have the ability to think like Him. We can begin to recognize lies we’ve believed
by comparing our thoughts and beliefs with God’s Word. Confess the things that cramp your mind. Bring them into the light of God’s Word, we can experience freedom; so pray.
This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’” Matthew 6:9-13
God longs for you to engage with and enjoy your relationship with Him. As you pray — and experience how He answers — your relationship with Him grows in trust, and you can have peace in whatever challenges you’re facing. There are six important steps to personalize your prayers, all found in Matthew 6:9-13. These steps include worshiping, surrendering, requesting, confessing and inviting protection. Communicate with your Heavenly Father; He wants to answer you.
