PB Devotion
Turn to me now, while there is time. Give me your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping, and mourning. Don’t tear your clothing in your grief but tear your hearts instead.” Return to the Lord your God, for he is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relent and not punish.”
Joel 2:12-13
As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.
Ephesians 2:1-3
Paul is basically saying that sin comes from the "passion of the flesh." That is sin comes from the inside of all of us. We can’t just say, “The Devil made me do it.” If we are to follow Jesus and unfollow what he’s overcome, we must recognize the power that sin has had over our lives. Jesus has freed us from sin, but we still need to make the daily decision to renounce the Devil and the Flesh. As we go through 40 Days of Purpose; know that Jesus invites you to be formed as a new person in Him. What are the places you have not allowed God to make you over? Are you still entrenched in a worldly system or guided by your fleshly desires in some areas? Invite Jesus into your situation and allow Him to do a work in your life.

“Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen.”
Ephesians 3:20-21
