PB Devotion
Turn to me now, while there is time. Give me your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping, and mourning. Don’t tear your clothing in your grief but tear your hearts instead.” Return to the Lord your God, for he is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relent and not punish.”
Joel 2:12-13
No matter our age, we are always seeking to discern God’s will. The college student is wondering what career to pursue. The young adult is wondering whether to move cities. The parent is wondering how to raise a child. The retiree is wondering how to best use the new season of life. The good news is that Gods will is not a mystery. We may not always know exactly what job to pursue or what city we should live in, but we can be certain that God wants to reveal his will to us. If we walk in relationship with Jesus, we can hear what he’s saying to us. The primary way the Lord speaks is through His Word. If we want to know God’s heart and God’s will, we must first begin with His Word. As we spend time in His Word and study His Word, we experience both the renewing of our minds and we have access to the mind and will of God the Father. During these 40 Days of Purpose, inspect the areas of your life where you are seeking to discern God’s will.

“Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen.”
