In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering
over the face of the waters.
Genesis 1:1-2
In the Old Testament, the Spirit moves prophets to speak the words of God. They were bold an courageous. They were not without fear, but the spirit of the Lord was the lead and the guide. They were bold and afraid, but they spoke anyway; thus, says the Lord. In the Old Testament, the Spirit rests on kings. The anointing was upon them by the spirit of the Lord. But it is after the resurrection of Jesus that God sends the Spirit into every believer that will accept Him. The Holy Spirt was and is to empower every Believer to do the ministry of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. WHO God is in the Spirit, and WHAT He does for us and in us is transformative and deserves our praise. Thank God today for the work of the Holy Spirit in your life. He is alive and active.
