“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
Acts 1:8
Jesus’s last recorded words to His disciples on earth promise power from the Holy Spirit to witness of Jesus to the world. You and I don’t have to be brave enough or smart enough on our own to be a witness; the Spirit enables us. It’s not by our own power or might but by the spirit of God that we proclaim His name. Me in and of myself cannot be a witness of His majesty. When we allow ourselves to be led by the Spirit, we are now open to everything the Spirit is doing and revealing. The eyes of our heart are open and then we can see the King of kings high and lifted up. We can testify of His goodness and sing Holy, Holy, Holy are you Lord; by the power of the Holy Spirit.

“Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen.”
