God does not love us because we are so great or good. God loves all of us because he is gracious and good. Remember, Boazs mother was Rahab. She became an ancestor of David; the line of Jesus.

Rahab was a prostitute, traitor and an outsider. None of these things disqualified her. She protected Gods people and this qualified her. Her son, Boaz, followed in her footsteps and married Ruth; an outsider.

Today you might think you have too many strikes against you to belong to Jesus’ family. But the Bible has good news: all who receive Jesus and believe in his name have the right to become children of God.

Christmas invites us to believe in Jesus and to look forward with hope to the day when he will come again to reign as the Lord of lords and King of kings forever. Nothing disqualifies us. That’s Good News!!!
