Failure to actively pursue holiness might be an indication of a lack of salvation. I don’t have a heaven or a hell to put you in but God does. He will judge the heart posture of man. He really does know your heart. I believe that pursuing holiness is not only important because it is an outward manifestation of salvation but a life that doesn’t manifest holiness is a hindrance to the salvation of others.

Jesus said: “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.”
Matthew 5:13

Does your life bring others to Christ or repel others from Christ? I know we’ve all heard stories of someone who was turned off to Christ because of the way they saw Christians living. Is that you? Do you represent Christ well as an ambassador of heaven?

This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:5-9

Throughout our prayer and fasting season I hope you inspected your life in Christ. Continue to inspect your life in Christ. It’s not about perfection it’s about direction. Who and what are you pursuing?
