PB Devotional

Yesterday we celebrated Palm Sunday. I hope it was a reminder to welcome Jesus into your hearts and to be willing to follow him. He truly is Lord over all.

As Jesus rode a donkey into the town of Jerusalem a large crowd gathered and laid palm branches and their cloaks across the road, giving Jesus royal treatment. The hundreds of people shouted "Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven!" (Luke 19:22-44 Palm Sunday)

Today is Holy Monday.  The Bible says that Jesus was in Jerusalem teaching and debating the religious leaders.

Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question, saying, "What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?" They said to him, "The son of David." He said to them, "How is it then that David, in the Spirit, calls him Lord, saying, "'The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, until I put your enemies under your feet'? If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?" And no one was able to answer him a word, nor from that day did anyone dare to ask him any more questions.
Matthew 22:41-46

Even as the people gave Jesus the royal treatment they did not truly understand. “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven!"
Consider how many times Jesus heard the crowd of people say this phrase on Palm Sunday. They were wrong. So wrong that the very next day Jesus poses this question to the religious leaders and teachers. "What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?"  Jesus explains how the “The Son of David” is the wrong answer and scripture says they had no more questions for Him after that day. The debate was over.

Consider your thoughts about Jesus today. What have you believed about Him that may not be true? Inquire of the Lord today. There is no question too difficult for the Lord and He is not one to be offended. He wants to bring clarity to your life in every area.

Welcome to Holy Week!
