PB Devotional

Paul and Baranbas disagree on who should be a part of their team. The person in question is John Mark who has deserted them on their first journey. Paul felt John Mark was not useful for ministry and Barnabas disagreed.

Barnabas took a chance and discipled John Mark. We don’t read what Barnabas did, but we do know the result. If you read the passage in 2 Timothy, you will see that Paul obviously has had a change of mind about John Mark. While Paul is under house arrest and very alone in Rome, he says that he would like John Mark to visit, because this young man had become “useful to me and my ministry.”

It can be hard for us to see the potential in kids or other people who come from tough circumstances; whose lives begin with a huge deficit. We tend to see disaster, not success, in their futures. Nevertheless, God uses people and situations, like Community LIFE, to transform adults and kids into useful vessels for Christ’s ministry and service in His Name.
