PB Devotion

As the New Year approaches (Rosh Hashanah/Feast of Trumpets), asking forgiveness becomes commonplace in Jewish communities. It is common in Jewish schools that principals, teachers, and other authority figures ask for forgiveness in case they inadvertently hurt a child’s feelings. Imagine the impact that has on children; seeing the adults and authorities in their lives humbly asking for forgiveness!
Consider exchanging apologies in advance. This time comes around every year and while the apologies may come more from a place of tradition instead of sincere regret, this practice trains our children to ask for forgiveness and to forgive. It gives them the tools to become mature adults who are able to humble themselves when they are wrong and make amends. Purpose sincere regret instead of tradition.

God will hear those who humble themselves, pray, and turn away from their wicked ways.
2 Chronicles 7:14

The High Holy Season begins October 2nd.
