Proverbs 16:3
As we prepare our hearts for the Feast of Trumpets, intentionality is everything. Spiritual growth rarely happens by accident. Just as a traveler prepares for a journey by packing carefully and planning ahead, we should prepare our hearts for what God desires to do in our lives.
One practical and powerful way to do this is by writing down your intentions. Take time to sit quietly with the Lord and honestly evaluate where you are and where He may be leading you. Consider the habits, attitudes, thought patterns, and behaviors that have helped you grow closer to Him. Then ask yourself what areas still need His transforming grace.
Maybe God is calling you to release bitterness, fear, anxiety, pride, or unforgiveness. Maybe He wants to strengthen patience, generosity, discipline, humility, or trust. Writing these things down creates a tangible record of your commitment and helps bring clarity to what the Holy Spirit is revealing.
A journal can become more than a collection of thoughts; it can become a testimony of God's faithfulness. As you write, don't focus solely on your weaknesses. Focus on God's ability to change you. The goal is not self-improvement through human effort alone but spiritual transformation through His grace. What God reveals, He also empowers you to overcome; He heals.
The Feast of Trumpets serves as a call to awaken, pay attention, and prepare for what lies ahead. It is an invitation to listen closely to God's voice and align our hearts with His purposes. By intentionally identifying the areas where growth is needed, we position ourselves to receive the work He wants to accomplish within us.
God's grace is already at work in your life. He is not asking you to make the journey alone. The same God who calls you forward will provide the strength, wisdom, and courage needed for every step.
So pick up your journal. Write your intentions. Surrender them to the Lord. Then trust Him to continue the good work He has begun in you.
Good Morning Lord,
As I prepare my heart for this season, help me to be intentional in my walk with You. Reveal the habits and attitudes that need to change, and strengthen the qualities You desire to grow within me. Give me the courage to surrender every area of my life to Your grace and the faith to trust Your transforming work. Lead me closer to You and prepare my heart for all You have ahead.
