Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them.
Matthew 5:23-24
The Feast of Trumpets is a season of awakening and preparation. It invites us to clear away anything that hinders our fellowship with God and one another.
One of the most humbling acts of spiritual maturity is asking for forgiveness. It requires us to set aside our pride, acknowledge our mistakes, and take responsibility for the ways we may have hurt others. Yet this is exactly the kind of heart God desires. He desires a heart that values reconciliation more than self-justification.
As we reflect on the past year, it is important to ask the Lord to reveal any relationships that may need healing. Were there words spoken in anger? Promises left unfulfilled? Actions that caused pain? Sometimes we are aware of the hurt we have caused, while other times we may need the Holy Spirit to open our eyes to things we have overlooked.
Seeking forgiveness does not mean we carry the weight of shame. Rather, it is an act of obedience that opens the door for restoration. We cannot control how others respond, but we can control our willingness to humble ourselves before God and others. A sincere apology can become the first step toward healing broken relationships and restoring trust.
When we reach out to those we have hurt or offended, we reflect the heart of Christ, who came to reconcile humanity. Don't allow pride, fear, or embarrassment to keep you from taking that step. The conversation may be uncomfortable, but obedience often begins where comfort ends. God honors a repentant heart, and He can bring healing in ways we never imagined.
Begin to ask the Lord if there is anyone you need to contact, apologize to, or seek forgiveness from. As you respond in obedience, you make room for His peace, grace, and restoration to flow through your life.
Good Morning Lord,
Search my heart and reveal any relationship that needs reconciliation. Give me the humility to acknowledge my mistakes and the courage to ask for forgiveness where I have caused hurt. Help me walk in love, sincerity, and repentance, reflecting Your heart in all my relationships. May Your peace and healing flow through every act of obedience. In Jesus name, Amen.
