"Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation. And in that day shall ye say, Praise the Lord..."
Isaiah 12:3–4
Water is one of Scripture's most powerful pictures of God's presence and provision. During the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot), water ceremonies reminded God's people of His faithfulness in the wilderness and their dependence upon Him for rain, harvest, and life itself. Every drop was a reminder that God alone sustains His people.
Isaiah speaks of a deeper well. It’s not a physical well, but the wells of salvation. He invites us to draw from those wells with joy. God's salvation is not a dry, distant transaction. It is living water that refreshes weary souls, restores broken hearts, and renews tired spirits. Many people try to satisfy their thirst with accomplishments, possessions, relationships, entertainment, or even religious activity. Yet the soul remains thirsty until it drinks deeply from God. Yeshua declared, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink" (John 7:37). He is the source of living water.
The Word of God also cleanses us. Just as water washes away dirt, God's truth washes away fear, confusion, bitterness, and unbelief. When we spend time in His presence and His Word, He gently reveals what needs cleansing and strengthens what has become weak.
Today, consider where you have been drawing your strength. Have you been relying on your own resources, or have you been drawing from the wells of salvation? God is not withholding refreshment from you. His invitation remains open. Come with joy. Draw near. Drink deeply.
As we celebrate Sukkot, let every cup of water remind us that our deepest thirst is found in Him alone. The same God who provided water in the wilderness still refreshes His people today.
Good Morning Lord,
You are the source of living water. When I am weary, refresh me. When I am discouraged, strengthen me. When I am distracted, draw my heart back to You. Cleanse what needs cleansing, heal what needs healing, and renew what has grown tired. May I draw from the wells of Your salvation with joy and gratitude. Let Your Word wash over me and make me more like Yeshua. Thank You for Your faithfulness in every season. Amen.
