PB Devotion

And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.
1 Corinthians 12:28

In Mark 16:17 Christ is quoted as saying: "They shall speak with new tongues," referring to miracles to be performed by the disciples after His ascension. The fulfillment of this promise came a few days later at Pentecost. In Acts 2:4 it is recorded that on the day of Pentecost "they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." Paul laid his hands on people and they received the gift of the Holy Spirit, and prophesied and spoke with tongues. We follow this pattern today.

If you have the gift of tongues you should passionately minister in a way that people not only desire to be filled with the Holy Spirit but also desire to have a spiritual language for their prayer, worship and intercessory life. Jude said to pray in your most holy faith. The gift of Tongues is for signs and wonders; so use it. Speaking in tongues is for intercessory prayer; so use it.

Is this your gifting? Is this how you bring glory to God? If so, speak! Bring people to Christ to the glory of God. Use this gift to the glory of God.

The Ordinary Days!!!

“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and from and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:11-15‬ ‭
