PB Devotion
Turn to me now, while there is time. Give me your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping, and mourning. Don’t tear your clothing in your grief but tear your hearts instead.” Return to the Lord your God, for he is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relent and not punish.”
Joel 2:12-13
“If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake, and for the sake of the gospel, will save it.”
Matthew 16:24-25
None of us want to suffer or deny ourselves of anything. We get stressed when we consider what we may lose or what we have lost. We stress about how we might get some of these things back. Will I have another shot? Is there enough time for me to recover? In the Kingdom of God, we turn our lives upside down. Those who are concerned about saving their life will lose it and those who are willing to lose their life for the sake of the kingdom will save their life. This is a promise from Jesus himself. Do you want life in the life to come or life here and now? You don’t have to choose. You can have both. Jesus said,
“And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.
Matthew 19:29
When you choose to follow Christ in this life you choose prosperity for now and later. Remember we stress when we feel like we are losing. We must remember that God is an add to God. He blesses us continually with the add to life. If you couldn’t keep it; it wasn’t God given.
The blessings of the Lord make a person rich and adds no sorrow with it.
Proverbs 10:22
This is the Year of Overflow
Sow Anyhow!!!
“Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen.”
Ephesians 3:20-21
