PB Devotion
Turn to me now, while there is time. Give me your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping, and mourning. Don’t tear your clothing in your grief but tear your hearts instead.” Return to the Lord your God, for he is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relent and not punish.”
Joel 2:12-13
“For what will it profit them to gain the whole world and forfeit their life? Indeed, what can they give in return for their life?”
Matthew 16:26
It is so easy to get distracted from God’s kingdom by the world around us. We love Jesus, but we get distracted by work, our families, our day-to-day business. We get lured by the false promises of wealth, power, beauty and/or security and put our trust in the creation instead of the creator. It is possible to go your whole life distracted, not realizing that we have been following the false promise of the world instead of Jesus. During 40 Days of Purpose, ask God to reveal any places in your life where you have gained “the world” but are forfeiting your life. Confess your sin and repent. Ask God to show you a new and better way to live in Him. God’s best is for you.

“Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen.”
Ephesians 3:20-21
