PB Devotion
Turn to me now, while there is time. Give me your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping, and mourning. Don’t tear your clothing in your grief but tear your hearts instead.” Return to the Lord your God, for he is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relent and not punish.”
Joel 2:12-13
“But God…”
Just when it seems there is no hope, two simple words changed everything: “But God…” We were dead, but God made us alive in Christ. Our faith is built on the radical ideal that God sent His son Jesus to die for our sins; and that, through Jesus and Jesus alone, we can have eternal life. God’s Word demands a response from us. What is your response to His Word? You know your response and it’s based on what you say and what you do. What is in your heart comes out of your mouth. It is Jesus who has done all of the work. He defeated sin. Do you believe and receive that truth? Take time during 40 Days of Purpose to reflect on the meaning of “But God…” Jesus has done all of the work. Jesus alone has saved you, redeemed you and called you His own. Walk in it!

“Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen.”
