“And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.”
Galatians 5:24

The believer is called to live their reality in Christ. The flesh, with its passions and desires, has already been crucified. We are not called as Christians to control our passions with iron self-will. Rather, we are to live in the work that Christ has already done. Our salvation does not come from our strength to overcome the desires of the flesh. Our salvation comes from the work that Jesus Christ has already accomplished on the cross. We have been crucified with Christ. When we enter the waters of baptism, we emerge reborn. We have moved from death to life. We are now free to “unfollow” the world because of what Christ has already done. As the 40 Days of Purpose come to a close begin to thank God for the gift of salvation.
