PB Devotion
Turn to me now, while there is time. Give me your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping, and mourning. Don’t tear your clothing in your grief but tear your hearts instead.” Return to the Lord your God, for he is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relent and not punish.”
Joel 2:12-13
“Finally, be strong in the Lord an in the strength of His power.” Put on the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”
Ephesians 6:10-11
Our ability as Christians to be strong is rooted on the foundation of God’s power. We can be strong because the Lord is strong. The Believer is to prepare by putting on the armor, just like a solider going to battle. And like a solider, each piece of the armor is necessary for full protection. We are to fully prepare to stand against the devil who will attempt to deceive and trick us. His plan is to steal, kill and destroy. As you look at everything that is going on around you and in this world; we must remember that God is more powerful. God is more powerful than anything else in this world. We should not be fearful of the devil, but we would be wise to prepare for the Christian life as if we are going into battle. As 40 Days of Purpose come to an end, think about the power of God. Read scriptures about His power. Think about the powerful things he’s done in your life. How has God shown up for you?

“Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen.”
Ephesians 3:20-21
