PB Devotion
Turn to me now, while there is time. Give me your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping, and mourning. Don’t tear your clothing in your grief but tear your hearts instead.” Return to the Lord your God, for he is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relent and not punish.”
Joel 2:12-13
On Maundy Thursday, we remember Jesus's last supper with his disciples and the washing of the disciple's feet. At first, Peter does not want Jesus to wash his feet. But Jesus says, "Unless I wash you, you have no share with me." Simon Peter eagerly exclaims: "Lord, not my feet only but my hands and my head!" Jesus replies, "One who has bathes does not need to wash, except for the feet, but is entirely clean." (John 12:3-10) In this interaction we see the very mission of Jesus; he came to cleanse us from sin.
This is Holy Week!!! Jesus remained focused on his purpose here on earth: to worship the Lord and serve only him. Jesus rightly recognized that his purpose was to serve God and fulfill his will, even if that meant a costly, painful death. Jesus stood firm in all temptations. He moved forward and did not try to take the easier path. In your life you will be confronted with the similar temptations. Consider where you might be willing to make alliances or concessions in order to avoid suffering. Be like Jesus and stay focused. Don’t give into the things of this world. Know that Gods agenda is the only agenda that matters. Align your will with the will of God. His best is for you. Continue to celebrate this Holy Week in all of its victory.

This is the Year of Overflow
Sow Anyhow!!!
“Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen.”
