PB Devotion
“Of course, your former friends are surprised when you no longer plunge into the flood of wild and destructive things they do. So they slander you. But remember that they will have to face God, who stands ready to judge everyone, both the living and the dead. That is why the Good News was preached to those who are now dead—so although they were destined to die like all people, they now live forever with God in the Spirit.”
1 Peter 4:4-6 NLT
When we live our lives from an eternal perspective we are not distracted by the obstacles of this life. Eternity is much longer than a 80 year or so lifespan. In this life we will have trouble. We should expect it.
“Jesus asked, “Do you finally believe? But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when you will be scattered, each one going his own way, leaving me alone. Yet I am not alone because the Father is with me. I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.””
John 16:31-33 NLT
We are not alone because Father God is with us. This is our peace and this is our joy. Friends, family, co-workers and neighbors may try to bring you down or bring up your past failures and success. They may try to discount your efforts and discount the Word of God but take heart. Although we have trouble Jesus has already overcome. His victory is my victory. So be like Jesus and spread the Good News. The Kingdom of God is near!!

““So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”
