PB Devotion
“If you are insulted because you bear the name of Christ, you will be blessed, for the glorious Spirit of God rests upon you. If you suffer, however, it must not be for murder, stealing, making trouble, or prying into other people’s affairs.”
1 Peter 4:14-15 NLT
Do you notice throughout scripture Jesus never spoke to social or cultural issues. Jesus was a Jew and he acted like a Jew. He knew what his mission was and he did not get distracted. The glorious Spirit of God was on Him.
“Then Jesus said to the woman, “I was sent only to help God’s lost sheep—the people of Israel.” But she came and worshiped him, pleading again, “Lord, help me!” Jesus responded, “It isn’t right to take food from the children and throw it to the dogs.” She replied, “That’s true, Lord, but even dogs are allowed to eat the scraps that fall beneath their masters’ table.” “Dear woman,” Jesus said to her, “your faith is great. Your request is granted.” And her daughter was instantly healed.”
Matthew 15:24-28 NLT
Her daughter was demon possessed. Jesus was not moved by that at all. It takes faith to please God. God is not moved by your circumstances or situations. He is moved by your faith. Faith is an eternal response based on your recognition of who He is in your life. Faith is not a reaction to this life’s temporal setbacks. The Kingdom of God is near. Have faith in God no matter what happens. Spread the Good News.

““So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”
